So poor me went to NP to settle my laptop today.

Imagine talking to a kinda cute guy in a groggy, disoriented, NO VOICE voice and asking him for help on the computer-.- While he's halfway through his DS game and has to stop it just to help this computer idiot. Ohmytian.

Expected it to take suuuuuper long, and it ended up taking 25 minutes-.-
Wl, cheat my feelings only, hahaha.

Went home and slacked, and watched the SUPER AWESOME CAMP DANCE PERFORMANCE VIDEO. HAHHAHA I LOVE MY GROUP. I LOVE OUR DANCE. I hate how weird and fat and ugly i look-.-
But whatever.

Culture Shock

Yeah.
You got it.
I'm still figuring out how to change from awesome-nice-church-people to not that nice poly people:/
Don't get me wrong, I love the friends I made.
I really love our hyperactivity, our bond, our closeness, our togetherness, everything. Just that it feels so weird :/

Leaving St Margs after 4 years, then entering Heart of God Church, it felt so weird and new to me. I thought culture shock was for people who can't integrate well. Turns out I was wrong. Culture shock simply shocks right true your veins.
I loved HOGC the moment I stepped in. The moment lame jokes came right at me, and how everyone came and talk to me.
But as the weeks went by, I couldn't figure out how to communicate with the guys. It's either A) I shoot them back like crazy or B) I don't even know how to reply them.
Kinda sucks yeah?
It's not that bad now, sometimes I feel it coming, but manage to stop myself. So yeap, transgression from St Margs to HOGC is successful.

Now.
Going to poly.
I thought it would be okay, since I'm more used to interacting with guys now. Turns out I was wrong. My mind had always told me that guys are the ones I have to worry about, guys are the ones that will make you feel awkward, guys are the ones with polluted minds that really needs constant washing.
But...
:/
I found out even girls can be like that.
Like how this girl watches porn and doesn't mind admitting to it, doesn't even feel wrong about it.
And she's one of my closer friends there.
Aiyo.
I really like her as a friend, it's just this whole new culture shock thing.

Think I've been too safe for the past 16 years of my life.
Year no.17 is the dangerous year I guess?
Oh well:/
I really half regretted coming to poly once I had that shock.
But if it ain't now, I'll still have to come out to the real world and know all these in future. Oh well. Poly life is gna be great. I know.
Just this culture shock thing that I can't get rid of:/

Induction today, the whole time the lecturer was talking about the activities coming up, about the CCA points I can get if i participate in different stuff, about how CCA points help for Uni admission.
#1 I was half excited to participated
#2 Then I remembered that I have a conviction towards Christ in church.
The whole time the lecturer was talking, I really truly honestly felt this stupid voice say- nehmind luh, it's okay, skip church, skip service, skip duty sometimes nevermind one. Poly more important, studies are important.
But really, I thank God for HOGC, that it built such a strong foundation in me.
I ended up countering that voice.
Like how we must seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be done unto [us]. And how God will put us through tests to see who is faithful. Even for people who THINK the wrong way, they fail the test. And i must say, I think i minused marks alr, hahaha. For about a minute, I was really so tempted to say: YEAH, poly is more important, i'll go for poly activities and not church.
But thank God for me standing strong (:

There's this dance thing on 15 May.
I really wna participate.
But it's on a saturday.
That same voice told me to skip service, but this conviction and vision and thing in me rebuked the voice and let me stayed strong and say: no, sorry, im not free. sorry i cant sign up.
Yeap.

God never meant for us to lead a happy, easy life.
He wanted us to lead a holy, Godly life.

On a brighter note, guess what?
I realised there are so many Christians I know! (:
Like in my camp group alone, there are about 3-4 more Christians?
And one of my GL is a christian too! (:
Just gives me so much for faith and hope and peace and encouragement (:

And Ken, one of the group members, HE ACTUALLY GOES TO HOGC.
I mean, not a regular church go-er, but he says he comes once a year for the basketball event. Haha, he's so funny.
I really want him to come man.
He'll really make everyone's days. Hahha.
Maybe I can ask him this week?
Lol, he looks like Gu Jun Pyo from BoF. LOL.

Super long post coming up, millions of things to update!

DAY ONE
Overslept like crazy, and chionged like siao to reach NP on time. I hate being late, especially for stuff like these that will make me the centre of attraction.
So anyways, reached NP, and found my group, and sat there for the awkwardest 20 minutes of my life. HAHAH. Our Group Leaders (GL) intended to play ice breaker games, but everytime we finished introducing ourselves, another person comes and we do it all over again. LOL. Not that much of an ice breaker yeah?
OH YAH.
I was in the green group, called Antlia, and my subgroup was Delta. GLs were Timothy and Elaine; Eddie was one of our house Caps._.
So anyway.
While playing within ourselves; turned around and happened to see Eddie walking over/turning around/whatever and we managed to actually acknowledge one another's presence for the first few times. HAHAHAHA.

Played more games.
Err.
Had lunch? Idk.
But i stuck to Nanie, Pam (Jia Xian's friend!), Jeremy (whose original name is Luk Ming and is from CTSS, but we decided he looks more like a Jeremy), and Ken. Played a super funny husband-and-wife; Shamah was like some tiny girl running aorund, HAHHA.

Hmm yeap.
Went to a corner to think of cheers.
Stoning halfway, and then Eddie came. Awkward moment of 3 minutes of me looking anywhere but there. (Aiyuh he keeps coming over-.-) so anyway.
We were like some super stone group with about 5 high people (my clique) at first, until someone suggested a cheer, and everyone literally cheered up and cheered the cheer.HAHAH. But i swear, that one cheer led to our main cheer, our awesome bonus points, and our awesome team spirit.

What happened next? Errr.
So anyway, our group suddenly became super bonded, and we discovered that actually, EVERYONE was high. Like, super high personalities. HAHAH. And therefore, we formed the 14-member-strong group that is super high and on for everything. HAHAHA (Y)
Played station games, cheered like no one's business, thought of 4 cheers in one day. OWNAGE. And kept winning games and getting a LOT of bonus points because of our (insanely funny and awesome) cheers (:

OH YAH.
We had mass dance.
And guys couldnt partner one another (probably due to the shortage of guys in the humanities faculty, HAHAH).
Ken: PARTNER?
Me: partner what?
Ken: i be your partner?
Me: Huh anything lor.
And TADAAAAA, i ended up with Ken as a mass dance partner. HAHAH. HE IS SUPER FUNNY. 1. We couldn't coordinate properly. 2. Everytime the looking-at-your-partner part comes, he says a random word like: FISHBALL. All in all he called me Fishball, Merlion, Esplanade, Durian, Honeydew, Biscuit. LOLLLL. I think. OH, and pig also. That ass.
But mass dance was hilarioussssss.

Station games were the ultimate boomzxz.
Our group was so high and enthu, we were so in sync. AWESOME.

Night games till late, then we went back to (awesome) loft (:
Took turns to bathe etc, and i think we all slept around 2+
(Cough cough, 12 girls sharing 2 toilets, LOL)

DAY TWO
Woke up around 730?
Washed up etc, and went to meet up with the dudes and our GLs.
And then, tadaaaa, we have a new addition to our group! He was previously from another group, but the other group was so sian, he himself aint enjoying it, plus he's the only guy. To quote him- and the girls there so cui, here the girls better.
LOL.
Name = Boon Cheng, but we decided it seems better calling him Ben than Boon. So TADA, Boon Cheng became Ben. HAHAHA.

Had AMAZING RACE.
The most fun, most tiring, MOST SUCCESSFUL AMAZING RACE I'VE EVER PARTICIPATED IN. HAHHA.
Like I said, our group is so bonded, so high and so full of enthusiasm and zest, even though we were the 3rd last group to leave (out of 16), we managed to leave our first main area as the first few. LOL. Bus-ed and Mrt-ed to Jurong Lake Park, played the games there etc. Super fun. ((((:
All our cheers totally owned man.
I really wna show you all the cheers. Hahahha. LOVE.

Trained to Jurong Point for Macs lunch!
Bought Happy Meal with Shamah, and we got one Buttercup hairpin each. HAHAHA. So guess what? The awesome guys who aint afraid to act gay were to use the hairpins for the campfire performance. Lol.
(Oh yeah, we decided we would do half Gee and half Fire, combined with a sian group called Zeta. Zeta's in the same house as us, so since its for the house points, combine lor)
Chionged to Hort Park for our next station.
Took forever to find it, and by the time we did, we were all super tired, super shagged, super stressed. BUT WE STILL FINISHED THE STATION PERFECTLY, and with so much bonding (: CHEER WAS AWESOME, HAHAHA.

Walked (at least) 2.4km to Henderson Waves. So tiring i swear. No water stops somemore, all of us almost died of dehydration. Ran from here to there just so that we wouldnt waste time. Completed 2 tedious stations there, then had to chiong to our last station near the area! (: Finally completed it thanks to iphone + data plan. HEHEHEH. Google is so awesome.
Yeap (:
Chionged back to school; every drink looked so tempting.
Did I mention? We started at 10 and ended at 5.
7 hours of amazing race under the hot sun.
ABout 5 hours of running/walking.

Reached school and chionged to buy ice cream. WHOOHOO.
Super refreshing after such a looooong day.
Awesome :D
We were super hot and sweaty and sticky and tired, but decided to practice our campfire item. WE ARE SO AWESOME MAN. I SWEAR. Our super hyped group had to cooperate with a totally cui and sian group. And our success = from a cui group to an average group (: AWESOME.
So half of us did Gee, half of us did Fire (:

Finished practicing around 740, and chionged to our campfire site (which is, zero campfire thanks to the rain but nevermind).
Super high for cheers and everything, and we were selected to be the first group to perform.
Hahaha, i really wish I can see the video now; Timothy videoed it but he probably isnt home yet. Oh well. But we really rocked. Hahaha. So much of hard work and effort paid off (:
Seriosuly, we were tired till we had no appetite for dinner, and sweating till beads of sweat dripped off the sides of our faces and hair. And our tees were SO sweaty. Seriously.
But we really rocked man.
So proud of ourselves:D
Did "FIRE". Hahaha. omg. I felt so rocker okay. And i was so high; I bet this is a side of me that no one in TDS has seen before. Hahahaha. Maybe Eddie was stunned. HAHAHHA.

Thought the other houses wouldnt be as good, but turns out they were all awesome as well (: We thought we wouldnt win, but what the heck, we were all so proud of ourselves because we really did an awesome job. We loved our item, practiced so much (: Yay.

Had mass dance again, friendship dance, then the clubbing thing.
This is what i don't get-- Why do people go clubbing when all you do is jump around, scream, and sweat so much its so gross?
Might as well go for church service and jump and clap and scream without feeling this claustrophobic.
oh well.
Left for our loft.
Washed up, and the guys came over to chitchat.
Called our GLs over to share our Macs delivery.
Talked a lot.
Played funny games.
And I swear, i half regretted coming to poly. Im really in the midst of a tremendous culture shock now:/ #1 Vulgarities really spill everywhere. I mean like, im not that bothered by it, but after so long of not hearing vulgarities and spending time with awesome people in church, vulgarities just hit me really hard. #2 Everything about the porn and stuff. omg. I swear, i honestly had no idea how porn can be an obsession. :/ This I really cant take it.
Oh well.

Hahaha. But they kept shooting me and Ken-.- I SWEAR, EVERYONE THINKS WE LIKE ONE ANOTHER, ZOMG, PLEASE NO.

No, I swear, i was laughing like some retard, behaving really unglam-ly, and then i turned around and saw that he and our other house cap were sitting down there staring at us playing games for goodness knows how long. Omggggg.
And worst part?
I think I accidently gave him the rolleye. HAHAH. shitzxz.
Eddie, if you're reading this, it was unintentional, it's just that i was too stunned to do anything but turn away-.-
HAIYO, EMBARRASSING.

Attempted to stay awake the entire night.
Gave up at 630am.
Hahaha.
Our poor GLs were half asleep on the sofa bed we were sitting on, and the remaining few of us kept talking and talking. Lol. So we all went to sleep at 630am and woke up at 730. HAHAHAH. Awesome much.

DAY THREE
Cleared the room.
Went down.
Played a really gross game.
I dont even wna elaborate, i swear i almost puked.

Had a tiny briefing, cheering, giving out of prizes.
GUESS WHAT PEOPLE?

What about if i factor in the part where i was yelling halfway, already feeling paiseh about my cmi-cheer voice, and then i realised the direction i was looking at was where Eddie was standing. Which was behind my GLs. And we (once again) had that brief eye contact. And i almost stopped cheering because it was just so embarrassing. HAHAHAHHA. That split second, i thought i saw him give the points-towards-himself-being-egoistic-look. But omg, so paiseh, YET SO FUNNY. HAHAHAHA. Really really.
It's the one cheer i wont forget, because its really funny.
Doubt TDS people have ever seen me this high before.
Come to think of it, have I even spontaneously initiated a cheer and led the entire group in doing it? NO.

Had induction; almost died inside cos it was so boring. Wanted to sleep so badly.

Passed Eddie stuff after that, and i dont even know if he could hear my properly.

Idk if I'm excited for, or dreading camp tmr

Seriously.
And what's making me this scared?
HORROR MOVIE + NIGHT WALK.
Yeah, seriously. When I come back and you see me traumatised/being scared of the dark and the slightest things, you'll know how shaken I am. Maybe I wouldnt even be back-.- Probably died of heart attack-.-
But yes.
I'm REALLY dreading it.
I'm just gna sleep, or sms friends, or just stare at a B1 photo or smth. Hahaha. B1, I'm really gna miss you, even if it's just for 3 days ):

I'll only be active on twitter though; don't like going fb through iphone.
So people with twitter, you'll have first hand info about how scared i am during nightwalk or smth-.- Pffft.

So anyway.
It's currently 1220am, and instead of packing my bags, guess what i'm doing?

Our God is so big, He can minister to so many people at the same time

God's presence was so strong tonight!
I love the revival meeting, can't wait for the next one! (:
God really spoke so strongly (:

Pastor Lia: The story about Giddeon.... He asked his stories the first question: are you afraid?
and the moment "are you afraid?" left pastor's mouth, i felt my heart jump and heard my brain answer: YES.
And that totally freaked me out, because it's so true. I'm afraid; of being a leader, of rising up, of accepting the leadership opportunities. Because there's this feeling that i'll screw up and do smth wrong.
BUT.
As pastor continued talking, and when we were praying, and when someone prayed for me, i suddenly felt this peace, encouragement and confidence flood my spirit. The literal: WHO SAYS IM AFRAID?
I really felt like I could take on any challenge without fear but with confidence in the Holy Spirit. How powerful is that man?
And then someone came to pray for me, and she said: Let her mind and heart be linked, that she will not be contradicted.
And then I felt this distinct connection somewhere in my heart, as if my mind and heart really became linked. Like, I suddenly had this confidence that my heart is saying i can be a leader, and my brain is agreeing! instead of giving all the weird stupid discouraging points that always gets me down.

So encouraged today!
And as I was sharing with Weiling, Weile, Wenqi etc about what I felt, they all told me they believe in me. And it's just so awesome feeling that way; it's like, i have super low confidence in myself, but 3 people believe so strongly in me, AND GOD DOES TOO! (:
Can't wait for the day when i'll really rise up as a leader man (:

AWESOME

I swear I love talking to Wei Le on the phone.
48minutes can fly by without us knowing.
And then suddenly: ohmytian, 12am already?!

Aiyo anyway.
One more thing I can thank God for--- computer competent friends who offered to help me sort out my computer problems this weekend.
If not this computer incompetent (and incompetent doesnt even cover the extent of my incompetence) person will just crash her com, and then just die._.

Seriously.
Sentences like the following are understatements.
#1 Rey Lyn is a computer idiot
#2 Rey Lyn is a computer noob
A more accurate version would probably be smth like:
Rey Lyn + Computer = disaster all the way, including the hanging of the computer, messed up downloads, weird htmls, weird downloads appearing at random places.
And better still,
Rey Lyn + iTunes = an ipod that only contains songs and photos because she cant figure out how to convert video file formats to fit the ipod and is lazy to download the converter because she'll probably die even with the converter.
Hmm.
Yeah.
And i still think those are understatements-.-

In fact, i keep bumping into this smss person, like, 3 times in 3 days. IN MY CONDO. She stays IN MY CONDO. In fact, very near to where Ms Wang used to stay in-.-
And then i keep seeing smss people in clementi. Bus stop, MRT, whatever.
And then I saw Esther and Danielle and City Vibe today, hahahaha.

I'm really NOT kidding when I say I'm a computer idiot

SERIOUSLY.
I can't even download the stupid NP software. EVEN AFTER I WENT DOWN TO NP FOR THEM TO HELP ME.

And i really think they should have done a better job in helping-.-

#1 Some of them don't even know how to download, and it took a few tries before they got half the things right
#2 They downloaded some stuff, then said," okay, the rest you just go home and do by yourself".
If people came to consult them, DOESNT IT MEAN THAT THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT BY THEMSELVES ALREADY?!?!?!!?!? OHMYGOSH.

If they had done a better/complete job, I WOULDN'T BE PISSED/FREAKING OUT LIKE THIS NOW OMG.

#2 Unzipped another file; no downloads
#3 Unzipped another file; DOWNLOAD UNSUCCESSFUL BECAUSE THE PROGRAM DOES NOT SUPPORT A 64BIT DNO WHAT RUBBISH, AND I HAVE TO DL SMTH ELSE INSTEAD?!

I managed to screw up my laptop's internet connection, managed to use up a LOT of space on my local disk and i have no idea why, managed to screw up my itunes and had to sort of redownload it, almost managed to just crash my entire laptop.

Supper with TDS people last night, AWESOME!
Hahahaha.
It all started when me and jia han decided to pop down to TDS after dinner. She to collect her pay and me to just stone. And then Shaun asked us out for supper with the rest of them. Okay lor! (: So we went home first, and waited for them to end work.

At 1120, dingding! SMS came, Shaun says he's reaching.
And then WAWAWA, I went outside, and saw the 7 seater. Zomg, i LOVE 7seaters. it suuuppppeerrrrr spacious (and lester and philip can actually fit in the 3rd row hahaha) Okay anyway. Hahahah, I LOVE HIS CAR, OMG.

So we went to pick up Eddie, Michelle, Philip and Lester. Then to Jia Han's house to pick her. And then it's off to Newton Food Centre! (:
LOL.
Shared a huge coconut (that was not so huge after all) with jia han, and then stoned while they were eating. Reason? #1 VERY FULL #2 Fattening ): #3 they ordered spicy food._.
Hahahha oh whatever.
But had an awesome time all the same talking about work and every other imaginable thing (: Most fun i've had with them, DEFINITELY. (((((:
If i still had a diary/still write in my diary, that's definitely going in.

And then Shaun sent all of us home.
Zomg, another super fun thing (:
Heheheheh, i had a 1h15min car ride, LOL! First to go home, Jia Han! (In farrer road), then lester (in ang mo kio), then Eddie (along bukit timah road, near serene centre), then Michelle (near coronation), then Philip (in bukit batok), then ME, home sweet home in West Coast (: Hahaha! Driving into Plaza Sing area at 1+ is awesome. Almost no cars at all, hahaha.

No service today, Pastor says it's Family Day! (:
Yeap, I'm bored, not really free to read my bible/do QT since there isn't even a room available, but. Although I'm not in church, I feel God's presence so strongly (:

So many thanks I wna say to God man.
It's an understatement to say that I love God; It's even more so when we say He loves us, because LOVE is not broad and deep enough to actually explain His feelings for us (:

Randomly sent a text and said that God Loves Us.
Hahha, really random, really simple, but it totally made my day (:

#2 WENQI (:
Who randomly sent a text to thank me for the cookies, and told me she just prayed for me. And sent me this verse.
1 Timothy 4:12
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believeres in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
'Youth' means our physical ae, haha but I feel for you, it means our spiritual age also. You may be only three months in church, but we believe in you!
I really almost cried after reading it (:
Just felt the presence of God so so SO strongly. Thank you Wenqi, for your neverending support, and neverending joy, and everything that you have guided me through (: For being an amazing friend, and a super leader (: Yeah!
Just yesterday and the day before, during Easter Service, I was wondering if I was doing a good enough of a job to talk to new friends, like, if I was doing the right thing, if im not screwing things up, if im really, just too spiritually young to counter all these. You all know how self conscious i am, and i always wonder if im not good enough, if im really doing the right thing.
But this verse totally lifted my spirits.
i really felt as if God was saying- REY LYN. YOU ARE DOING IT RIGHT. NO ONE IS TOO YOUNG OR TOO NEW TO SERVE ME AND DO GOOD FOR ME. I LOVE YOU.
YEAH (:
It was THAT powerful.
This encouragement, confidence and support just came flooding in, and this peace (:
oh man.
I love Wenqi for sending me this, so randomly, but so timely.

Who blogged a super sweet post that almost made me tear, who brought so much fun and joy when working, who had a never ending heart for encouragement, and who always makes my day(:

Just had one of the most horrible char kuay teow EVER-.-
Eww.

And since I didnt wna make my granddad sad cos he bought is, i ended up finishing the entire packet. It would have been okay if it's nice, BUT ITS HORRRRIIIBBBLLLEEEEEEE and the packet is HUGE. I swear. My stomach's about to explode, as gory as it sounds-.-

Oh well.
Came to my grandma's house to bake cookies for easter.
BUT, I scared I spoil the oven or smth. Hahahaha. No one here knows how to use it, and my grandma and mom are at work ):

No cookies at all, or postponed easter gifts? :/
The next earliest day I can make the cookies is on Sunday, Easter, when I'm not gna meet friends. WHATS THE POINTTTTTTTT. ):

Maybe I shld be ge kiang and go make onebatch to try first.
Hur.
I should right?
But one batch = 2 cookies for each person. HAHAHAHA. Pathetic., I think i can squeeze in time for 2 batches if i start now. 4 cookies per person? O.O LOL. Okay, i give up stoning and being a no lifer in front of the com. Even if i spoil the oven, i'm gna bake cookies. NOW.
